Hi folks. I've used the MX4T for about 3 oil changes now. It runs great in the bike.
I've noticed a problem lately that seems to have recently sprung up. Either that or I haven't noticed it before in the 2 years I owned my Savage.
What I can't understand is that my bike is losing oil. I'm pretty sure there are no leaks in my engine (no messes), but the damn level in the view window has been dropping. I've refilled it once since the last oil change (which was 2 months and about 1600 mi ago) and it's already down again.
At first I thought it was my speedo/trans cable connection because I lost the washer. I saw a little weeping there. But I put in my own rubber washer in as a fix and it seems to have sealed nicely.
Is this oil consumption normal? Does the Savage burn oil? I don't smell or see evidence of this. Where's my oil going!
Any help would be appreciated. I'm changing the oil this week and will monitor oil level, added amounts, & mileage closely.
